Dr. Sheila Lally

Dr. LallyDr. Lally began her career as a professional mountaineering guide, leading clients on month-long treks through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Wyoming; she went on to climb Mt. Rainier and Mt. McKinley. During her years as a mountaineering guide, she developed an interest in Wilderness Medicine, and went on to Medical School. During her clinical years, her interest transitioned from Emergency/Wilderness Medicine to General/Breast Surgery. This allowed her to utilize her teaching and interpersonal skills, develop a relationship with her patients, and employ her tactile skills and attention to detail. She has been in solo practice in Poulsbo, WA for 25 years, the majority of which she has focused on breast and outpatient surgery.

Her practice is now focused almost entirely on breast care. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, attends national breast conferences, and is affiliated with Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. She places a high priority on breast esthetics and works closely with plastic surgeons understanding that it plays a crucial role in helping a woman recover emotionally and psychologically.

She co-founded the Peninsula Breast Center and the Survive & Thrive health and fitness program. A program designed to help cancer survivors decrease their risk of cancer recurrence and transition to a healthier lifestyle following their cancer treatment. Dr. Lally received a diploma in botanical painting from the Society of Botanical Artists in London, and enjoys painting, trail running, cycling, hiking, kayaking, skiing, gardening, cooking, and adventure travel.
